Chapter 02 · The technology
Modular systems, combined to meet your needs.
Three systems, one premise: the underlying models can't be trusted, so the infrastructure has to earn trust instead. Each is useful alone; combined, they turn one stress-tested knowledge base into a family of deliverables.
The knowledge-base-first thesis
The risk in legal AI comes down to the quality of the knowledge the model works from. So we invest where it counts: structured, living knowledge bases with cross-source checking, contradiction detection, and reliability scoring built in at ingestion. Get the knowledge base right and a whole family of deliverables becomes possible.
KB Creator Engine
Ingests source material, structures it, configures update schedules, and maintains versions, creating living knowledge bases that can stay current instead of one-shot exports that age. Content isn't added; it has to clear the checks to get in. Changes can propagate to every dependent deliverable.
Distrust layer: official sources locked as captured, cross-AI agreement before a claim advances, word-for-word checking against the original, contradiction flagging, source reliability scoring, and a sealed audit log at ingestion
Virtual Insight
Assembles jurisdiction- and domain-specific knowledge to deliver virtual insight at scale: local practice, procedural nuance, the context a matter sits in, and deep research. The point isn't to make the call; it's to give the attorney information to help them make that call.
Distrust layer: every item sourced and dated, held as context rather than legal authority, with adversarial review of jurisdiction-specific insight and cross-jurisdiction consistency checks
Drafting System
Produces deliverables (memos, analyses, contract language, advisories) grounded in knowledge-base context with provenance tracking, so time goes to judgment instead of mechanical drafting. The drafter is gated to provisions that cleared the checks. Material that didn't clear them isn't in the set it draws from. The same checked knowledge renders for different audiences (executive brief, engineering punchlist, counsel memo), so work product lands correctly for each reader. Presentation, style, structure, and voice are configurable; the substance is not.
Distrust layer: multi-model fact-checking, adversarial review, and remediation loops in every generation cycle; a separate fact-checking pass on the way out; and check logs and unconfirmed tags that travel with every output format
What knowledge does your work run on?
We'll take you through how the three systems fit together.
